About
AMK (Andrew Killenberg) grew up on St. Petersburg Beach FL, and got his start in the music scene back in the early 2000's. Mentored by Tampa's legendary Dj Dave Seaburn, he quickly made a name for himself in the Florida club circuit. Under the alias of Dj Andi K, he held residencies at Tamiami, Gold Star, and Camel Club in St. Petersburg as well as Luna Lounge, Masquarade, Club Fun, The Edge, and Flytrap in Ibor City. Spinning a mix of breakbeat, progressive, and house, Andrew had mixes played on BBC radio 1, and opened up for artists including Moby, BT, Icey and Sonique. Andi also Dj'd after parties for Eminiem, Damian Marley, and Motley Crew, even playing private parties for the Backstreet Boys alongside the famous Dj Red Alert.
Things moving fast Andi was thrust into producing music, and released his first album with fellow Dj and good friend Matthew Gold (AKA Ill Versed), on Tampa's Crescent Records label under "The Renegades of Funk".
Soon after, he was picked up by Orlando labels Breaklogix and Version 3.0 both headed by Friction and Spice's Jeff Alderson. Andi released Underground, with Breaklogix, while Dynamite Soul, Freestyle Effect, Spanish Ice and True/Get it Started, were released by Version 3.0 with True going into multiple pressings, and even selling in Europe. In 2004 after getting married, the travel, late night sets, and scene started to take its toll. Pursuing his other passion, Andrew and his wife started purchasing and renovating homes, and ended up moving to beautiful Door County Wisconsin. After a nice break and building a new studio, Andrew began writing again. Going simply by his initials AMK, Andrew switched from breakbeat to a more mature style of dance music. After starting slowly with some remixes, he produced original tracks Tango, and the feel good follow up 70 Degrees in 2017. Busy in the studio AMK has plans for an album release in 2019.
